In a strong commitment to advancing sustainable tourism and strengthening the position of Belitong as a world-class geopark, the Association of the Indonesian Tours & Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bangka Belitung held a TableTop Business-to-Business (B2B) Collaboration, Coffee Break, and Soft Launching of the Belitong Geopark Official Website. This event took place as part of the Famtrip 2025, organized by the Belitung Regency Tourism Office from September 30 to October 3, 2025.
The Famtrip 2025 brought together 20 leading travel agents and tour operators (TA/TO) from several provinces across Indonesia. The initiative serves as a platform for business networking and collaborative marketing to promote international tourism destinations and support the sustainability of HAS Hanandjoeddin International Airport, Belitong’s gateway to global visitors.
The TableTop B2B session, initiated by ASITA Bangka Belitung, was designed to foster direct partnerships between local tourism stakeholders and national travel industries. Participants engaged in productive discussions on developing innovative Green Tourism and Blue Economy travel packages, emphasizing eco-friendly experiences and marine-based tourism activities. These concepts align with the national agenda for sustainable development and Indonesia’s vision for responsible tourism.
The event also featured the Soft Launching of the Belitong UNESCO Global Geopark Official Website, a new digital platform aimed at enhancing the visibility of Belitong’s unique geological, ecological, and cultural heritage. The website serves as an interactive information hub for travelers, researchers, and tourism partners to explore Belitong’s attractions and promote integrated conservation-based tourism.
To highlight the strategic significance of this initiative, ASITA Bangka Belitung invited several high-level representatives from government institutions, including: Deputy for Coordination of Housing Development and Settlement Infrastructure, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs; Expert Staff for Sustainable Development and Digital Transformation, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs; and Assistant Deputy for Development and Spatial Planning of Settlement Areas.
From the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia (KKP), the event welcomed: Special Staff for Marine Spatial Planning and International Cooperation; Director of Coastal and Small Islands Utilization; and Director of Coastal and Small Islands.
Their presence underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration between government agencies, tourism associations, and local communities to ensure that Belitong’s tourism development remains aligned with sustainable environmental and marine policies.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of DPD ASITA Bangka Belitung emphasized that the TableTop event represents not just a business meeting, but a collaborative movement to build a resilient, eco-conscious tourism ecosystem. Through strategic partnerships and responsible marketing, ASITA aims to position Belitong as a leading destination for sustainable island tourism where the prosperity of local communities goes hand in hand with the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
This initiative marks another milestone in Belitong’s journey toward becoming a global model for sustainable tourism, bridging the aspirations of the tourism industry, government, and community to promote a greener, bluer, and more inclusive future for Indonesia’s archipelagic tourism.
